The winery

Polvanera is born by a long tradition of family that has roots in viticulture by always.

The passion of Filippo Cassano

Filippo Cassano, owner and winemaker, has always believed in the potential of the Primitivo from Puglia. Growing up among the vineyards and through his father Vincenzo's experience, and trained at the oenology school "Basile Caramia" from Locorotondo, he chose a pure vinification capable of highlighting the territory’s unique identity. Polvanera, located between Acquaviva delle Fonti and Gioia del Colle, it opens onto an enchanting landscape, made of orderly vineyards, dry stone walls and roverelle trunks that tell the story of Puglia.

The Winery: Beauty and Functionality

The Polvanera winery is unique: dug 8 meters into the calcareous rock, allowing the wines to age at a constant temperature, combining aesthetics and functionality. Next to it sits a Masseria from 1820, with rustic charm, which welcomes guests in an authentic and evocative atmosphere.

A Territory Strategic

Set in a highly attractive tourist area of Puglia, Polvanera is just twenty minutes from the Valle d’Itria and Matera, making it a perfect destination for those who want to combine wine and exploration of the territory. The harvest, which begins in the first decade of September, uses modern pressing and vinification facilities, supporting a production Bio that respects the environment and tradition.

The Quest of the Excellence

Filippo, together with his collaborators and with the support of the family, pursues an ambitious project: to valorize the Primitivo and the other autochthonous grape varieties, telling through every bottle the passion, the quality and the authenticity of Puglia. Every wine is a sensory experience that reflects the land, the history and the soul of Polvanera.
