The Masseria, adjacent to the winery, dates back to 1820 and holds a long and fascinating history. Originally the structure was used for charcoal production: the small family that carried out this activity was nicknamed by the townspeople Polvagnor (in the Apulian dialect), Polverenera, because the skin, in contact with the coal dust, took on a dark color.
Filippo Cassano has reworked the nickname of this ancient family, transforming it into the brand of his products. Polvanera it indeed recalls both the intense ruby red color of Primitivo wine, and a fertile and productive land, characterized by ferruginous red earth and limestone rock.

Thanks to careful renovation work carried out by the family themselves, today the Masseria preserves its original beauty intact. Inside the structure it is possible to taste the wines, savor dishes typical of the local tradition, and participate in cultural events.
